Han Mei

Han Mei is Associate Dean of the College of International Education, Capital Normal University (CNU) and associate professor in the English Department of the College of Foreign Languages, CNU.

As Associate Dean for International Collaborations, she is responsible for all international communications of CNU, which include student and faculty exchange programs with partner universities, issues related to Confucius Institutes, serving on the boards of Confucius Institutes abroad partnered with CNU, joint degree programs with sister universities, and recruitment of and services for foreign scholars at CNU.

Professor Han’s research interest is in language teaching and testing. She has published fifteen papers, books and translated readings concerning teaching and testing of English to Chinese learners. She is a supervisor of graduate students majoring in language testing at CNU. Previously she directed four research projects in her field, two of which were granted the Prize for Excellence by CNU.

A devoted teacher and researcher, Professor Han was granted an “Award for Excellence in a Young Teacher of Higher Education” by the Beijing Education Commission in 1999. She won a “CNU Excellent Dissertation Instructor Award” in 2004, and in 2005 she won the “Annual Award for Excellent Teacher at CNU.” Three times running, she has been the winner of the “Annual Teaching Assessment Award for Excellent Teaching” conferred by CNU.
