“With and Without the Other” Art Exhibition Opening
September 8, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
FreeWith and Without the Other is an exhibition of collaborative art works made by a group of artists and art historians who are graduate students and alumni from the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University and the Department of Art, University at Buffalo. The collaborations began in Beijing in January 2016 and were completed in Buffalo in September 2016. The resulting works, presented in a range of mediums, articulate something of the experience of working across the globe as creative thinkers who are at once collaborators, counterparts, and enigmatic strangers. The collaborators seek to shift our perceptions and interactions with one another by overcoming misunderstandings and finding a common language.
