Antipodal is an exhibition of collaborative art works made by a group of artists who are graduate students and alumni from the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University and the Department of Art, University at Buffalo. The collaborations began in Beijing in May 2018 and were completed in Buffalo in September 2018. The resulting works, presented in a range of mediums, articulate
something of the experience of working across the globe as creative thinkers who are at once collaborators, counterparts, and enigmatic strangers. The collaborators seek to shift our perceptions and interactions with one another by overcoming misunderstandings and finding a common language.

This event is part of the biennial UB-Tsinghua University art exchange in the Dept. of Art at the University at Buffalo and is co-sponsored by the Confucius Institute at the University at Buffalo, Dept. of Painting, Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, Office of International Education, and UB Art Galleries.
