Instructors:
Yitian Zhai, PhD Candidate in Comparative Literature
Huadong (Mark) Yin, Associate Director, University at Buffalo Confucius Institute

The UB Confucius Institute is pleased to announce the start of its new Chinese Language Corner. The language corner is designed to help participants practice Chinese and improve their ability in speaking and listening. In order to achieve the best results, Chinese will be the only language used by all participants, including instructors. The instructor’s guided lessons will give students new vocabulary and patterns to use in conversation about contemporary topics, followed by class discussion and one-on-one practice with a learning partner.

Each session will focus on a specific topic in contemporary Chinese culture. Likely topics include: making friends in China, Chinese dating culture, traveling in China, Chinese food in China, and Chinese celebrities. After the first several classes, topics can be selected based on student interest.

All levels of Chinese language learners are welcome. Some previous knowledge of Chinese language is expected.
