25th International Conference on Geoinformatics

August 2 @ 8:00 am - August 4 @ 5:00 pm

Buffalo Marriott Niagara Hotel
(Conference begins on the morning of August 2 in the Center for Tomorrow, UB North Campus)

The Confucius Institute is proud to be a co-sponsor of the 25th International Conference on Geoinformatics.

The Geoinformatics conference series, held at UB in 1992, was initiated by the International Association of Chinese Professionals in Geographic Information Sciences (CPGIS). This international conference series has provided a unique forum for exchanging novel ideas and cutting-edge knowledge on geographic information sciences and technologies among GIS professionals worldwide.

This year, 2017, marks the 25th anniversary of CPGIS. The National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis at Buffalo (NCGIA-Buffalo) is proud to host this landmark event at the birth place of CPGIS to celebrate 25 years of success and pay tribute to CPGIS members.

The conference will be a high profile event featuring eight keynote speakers, including members of the US National Academy of Sciences, the Royal Society of UK, the Royal Society of Canada, and the National Academy of Sciences of China.
